On March 12th, Ema Nemet – LAURELIN project partner from Process Design Center (PDC) – participated at the online workshop organised by CINEA on “LCA to CCUS & Alternative Fuels “.
This workshop – organised by the European Commission’s European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) – included three keynote speakers with a pragmatic approach on the subject, focusing not only on theoretical lecturing but providing also good examples on different topics such as approach, recent advancement, most common pitfalls and potential solutions . This together with an associated panel discussion on the presented matters.
After these keynote sessions, 11 EU Horizon 2020 funded projects on CCS and CCUS had the opportunity to deliver a 10-minute pitch to present the project’s results but also to address common challenges and possible solutions. All representatives were open to share their views, methods and results. They showed dedication to the ultimate goal: addressing the environmental challenges faced by society, with climate change on top.
LAURELIN representative E. Nemet presented our project and more especially her work in the LAURELIN project: projecting the environmental impact of producing and utilizing e-methanol as a transport fuel.
This event – gathering approximately 100 participants – showed the importance of mutual understanding of challenges and research methods by EU funded research projects in the field of LCA to CCUS related to Alternative Fuels production.
TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology) will organize the next workshop in this field.
