The LAURELIN Consortium aims to inspire and develop the next generation of young engineers, entrepreneurs, chemists, and students interested in e-Fuels and new generations of catalysts for chemical reactors. As the 2023-2024 academic year concludes, the LAURELIN Consortium is excited to share our accomplishments in developing educational training materials to further help developing the next generation of stakeholders in the field of catalyst research. Our collaborative efforts have resulted in valuable resources for educational purposes.
In this context, The LAURELIN Consortium celebrates its achievements for the first semester of 2024 with the publication of new training materials, including a presentation from project partner University College of London (UCL) and two training videos covering two round tables which were held in November 2023 on Catalysts, e-Fuels and New generations of chemical reactors.
The presentation published by UCL on ‘Operando characterisation of supported catalysts for methanol formation’ focuses on catalytic challenges, current methanol production methods and its related Cu-ZnO issues. It also presents In2O3 as an alternative due to its very high methanol selectivity.
The two training videos cover the round tables discussions held on 22 November 2023 during the EU-Japan research Cluster event organised by LAURELIN on “new e-fuel production methods for sustainable transport“ together with two other EU-Japan funded research projects on advanced biofuels and alternative renewable fuels for transport: 4AirCRAFT, and ORACLE.
The videos are designed to serve as valuable training materials for students, researchers and anyone interested in our research on Green Methanol. This initiative aligns with LAURELIN’s academic mission to develop the next generation of stakeholders in the field of catalyst research.

These initiatives demonstrate the LAURELIN Consortium’s commitment to overseas collaboration and education in the field of sustainable energy, and its contribution to the EU’s goal of reducing carbon emissions as outlined by the Green Deal. The LAURELIN consortium aims to continue its work in the field of education during the second semester of 2024.
