LAURELIN represented at the ACS Spring 2024 National Meeting in New Orleans (USA)
From 17 to 21 March 2024, our LAURELIN member Luis Miguel Martínez-Prieto – representative of project partner UPV-CSIC – participated at the ACS Spring 2024 National Meeting in New Orleans (USA).
During the ACS Spring 2024 National Meeting, our project member Luis M. Martínez-Prieto presented his latest paper – Structural transformation of carbon-encapsulated core-shell CoNi nanoparticles during magnetically induced CO2 reduction into CO – developed under the LAURELIN project.
This event – gathering several stakeholders in the field of chemistry – has been organised by the Silicon Valley Section of the American Chemical Society who’s mission is to engage the chemistry community by providing professional development and networking opportunities.
During his presentation, Luis Miguel was able to present to the audience the latest results outlining that the LAURELIN project has successfully encapsulated magnetic thermo-active CoNi NPs in carbon which confers to the materials the stability necessary for high temperature reactions. Also – as presented by Luis Miguel – another key achievement for the project – in the development of stable heating materials for high temperature magnetically induced catalysis – is the selective hydrogenation of CO2 to CO (RWGS; Reverse Water Gas Shift reaction).
The LAURELIN project is truly grateful to see that our work in the field of catalyst systems and CO2 hydrogenation is not only acknowledged within the European Union and Japan but also in other overseas areas such as the United States.
