LAURELIN project partner participates in the European Green Week

On June 6, 2023, LAURELIN consortium partner Aliénor participated in the European Green Week 2023.

The EU Green Week is an annual gathering bringing together policymakers, leading environmentalists, and stakeholders from Europe and beyond to discuss European environmental policy. This year’s edition centered around the European Green Deal, the EU’s strategy for a resource-efficient and climate-neutral Europe by 2050.

Some of the key takeaways from the event include:

1. the powerful message that “Waste is not waste,” advocating for the circular economy. In this regard, using industry emitted CO2 to create methanol in a more efficient way, can play a crucial role.
2. The pursuit of net-zero pollution is as beneficial for society (and economy) as a whole, reducing health risks for the EU population.
3. Highlighting  existing good practices and promoting the upscaling of existing technologies, such as the production of green methanol currently executed by the LAURELIN project, is essential.
